Defender Ola Aina is poised to make his 75th Serie A appearance when Torino host Empoli at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday (today), PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Aina was an unused substitute at the weekend is in his third season at the club following his arrival on a season loan from Chelsea in 2018.
In his debut season in Italy, the 25-year-old wing-back made 30 appearances and scored once making three assists.
The goal incidentally was his only strike for the club – a match-winner against Udinese on February 10, 2019.
His second season saw him feature in 32 games and provided two assists without a goal.
So far this season, the former Chelsea defender has played 12 Serie A games (10 starts and two as a substitute) this season totalling 793 minutes and chalking up three yellow cards.
The Nigeria international will also hope to end his 34-month goal drought in the Serie A.
A win for Torino will see them move ahead of their 11th-placed opponents, Empoli who have recorded 19 points from 14 games.
Torino are placed 13th in Serie A log with 17 points.
Elsewhere, Isaac Success will be hoping to help Udinese pile more misery on Lazio when they travel to the capital to face the Biancocelesti.
Lazio head into Thursday’s (today) encounter with Udinese looking to bounce back from suffering two successive defeats in Serie A.
While the home side sit in the eighth position in the standings, Udinese are down in the 14th spot, still five points clear of the relegation zone.
The Nigerian has scored once in five games for Udinese this term.
